International Exposure

For imparting teaching beyond the curriculum, dignitaries from various academic and research organisations from India and abroad are invited regularly. Global expertise is brought locally by actively collaborating with various research organisations and academic institutions of repute. Further, students of the department are also exposed to the best practices through internships in top universities abroad.

  • The EC Department organized the 33rd IEEE Asian Test Symposium (ATS) – 2024 from 18-20 December 2024. More than 60 papers were presented and 240 participants attended the ATS-2024. The experts and participants were from various geographical locations and countries like India, USA, Germany, Japan, China, Italy, Singapore, France, Abudhabi, Estoniya , Iran and Tiawan, to name a few.
  • The EC Department organized the 9th IEEE International Symposium on Smart Electronic Systems IEEE iSES – 2023 from 18-20 December 2023. More than 150 submissions were received from all over the globe, out of which, after rigorous review with domain experts, around 105 papers were selected and 88 were presented. The experts and participants were from various geographical locations and countries like India, USA, Germany, UK, and Europe, to name a few.
  • Sidharth Mandaliya (20BIC048), Aditya Gupta (20BME003), Devansh Talati (20BME029), Rushil Daruwala (20BME024), Jatin Vanjara (21BEE524), Vraj Modi (21BEC069), Utkarsh Maheshwari (21BEC129), Priyanshi Shah (21BME123) from Team Arrow a part SAE Nirma Collegiate Club secured overall 5th position amongst 71 International teams participated in AUVSI SUAS 2023 competition held at Maryland, in USA. Team won a cash prize of 500 USD and a plaque.
  • Alumni expert lecture on “Learning Compliant Object Insertion” was delivered by Dr Samarth Brahmbhatt, research scientist at Intel Labs in California, USA.
  • Dr Ruchi Gajjar, Assistant Professor in EC Department was invited as a Visiting Research Scholar at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), New York, USA in the summer of 2022, to carry out collaborative research in imaging science. The duration of the research work was of 6 weeks, from June 15, 2022 to July 29, 2022 where she collaborated with Dr. Jan van Aardt and his team at the Digital Imaging and Remote Sensing Group (DIRS), Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science at RIT.
  • Dr Shishir Shah, Professor at Department Chair, University of Houston, Texas, USA, delivered a talk on “Classification Techniques in ML” to the students of BTech VI, MTech II on February 28, 2022 and March 12, 2022.
  • Dr Arun Somani, Associate Dean for Research at College of Engineering, Iowa State University, USA, delivered a talk on “Single and Multi-cycle data path” to the students of BTech VI, MTech II on February 25, 2022 and March 10, 2022.
  • Dr Amit Degada from University of Kentucky, USA, delivered a talk on “Recent Advancement in Electronics Technology” to the students of BTech IV, MTech II on January 06, 2022.
  • Mr Dhaval Chauhan, Software Engineer at Koerber Pharma, USA, delivered a talk on “The Future of Embedded System and Industry 4.0” to the students of BTech IV, MTech II on January 06, 2022.
  • Dr Rikkin Thakkar, Faculty at ECE Department, University of Maryland, USA, delivered lecture on “Why 5G Matters for your carrier” to BTech semester III, V, VII on September 5, 2020.
  • Dr Jorge Teniente-Vallinas Public University of Navarra, delivered a short course on Antennas, Terreatial and Satellite Radio Wave Communication for the UG and PG students in March 2019. He also shared his research work with the students, research scholars and faculty.
  • Aditya Dave, final year student was selected in Spring 2019 Accelerator Program Boulder Coloroda by Watson University US. He worked on developing an IoT based solution for underprivileged community from January, 2019 to May, 2019. He received a scholarship of 10,500 US Dollars.
  • Mohit Jain  and Adit Shah, B Tech students got an opportunity to work on a project titled “CAD based Pneumonia detection using Image Processing”, in Florida Atlantic University, USA under the guidance of Dr Hanqi Zhuang in 2018.
  • Yashaswi Rauthan, final year BTech student worked on a project titled “YOLO to VATIC”, in the University of Houston, USA under the guidance of Dr Shishir Shah in 2018.
  • Purva Desai, final year BTech student worked on a project titled “Occupancy Detection”, in the University of Houston, USA under guidance of Dr Omprakash Gnawali in 2018.
