The Placement Team of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department organized a preparatory session for the students of B.Tech. Semester – VII to prepare them for the upcoming campus drive of NXP. The speakers of the session were: i) Mr. Sagar Patel, Digital Physical Design, NXP, Semiconductors, Noida (sagarpatel.9556@gmail.com) ii) Mr. Niraj Gandhi, Digital Validation, NXP, Semiconductors, Noida (niraj.h.gandhi@gmail.com) (iii) Mr. Mitul Vaghani, Digital Verification, NXP, Semiconductors, Noida (mitul39@gmail.com) and iv) Ms. Pooja Shah (pjshh6@gmail.com). The session was organized via Google Meet on 6th September 2022 from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. The objective of the session was to provide an outline about the roles offered as well as preparation tips for the test and interview process at NXP Semiconductors. The session started with a welcome note and the introduction of the guests by Dr. Sachin Gajjar, Placement Coordinator. The speakers were the Alumni of Nirma University and excellent professionals in their respective fields. Next, all the speakers introduced themselves and briefed about their roles at NXP Semiconductors. Ms. Pooja Shah briefed about her role as an SoC Verification Engineer, the basic process of verifying an SoC and the skills required for the role. She was followed by Mr. Niraj who is the part of validation team, Mr. Mitul and Mr. Sagar working as a part of Synthesis and Implementation team at NXP Semiconductors. All the speakers gave a good understanding of their profile and what topics should one prepare in order to have a better chance of getting the role. They also discussed about the questions that can be asked in the test and interview, some general etiquettes to be taken care of during interview, etc. At the end, there was an interactive part between the students and the speakers; where all the questions were answered by the speakers. The speakers were kind enough to share their contact details in case of any further doubts.
The session was really informative and helped students get a direction for preparation of the upcoming campus drive of NXP Semiconductors.
