Continuing the tradition of organising the co-curricular activities for the benefits of students, the Electronics and Communication Students? Organisation (ECO) organised the orientation activity for the students of EC branch. The event was organised on August 27, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at C-Auditorium. More than 350 students of EC across all the semester participated in the said activity.
The event preluded with the invocation of Goddess Saraswati followed with a cordial welcome to the students and faculty members of EC Department. Ms Anmol Jain, student of 7th semester EC presented a brief introduction of the ECO Club and also narrated the interesting history of various events organised under the ECO since its inception. The President of the ECO, Mr Shivang Dalal, presented the event calendar for the odd semester-2019. He also encouraged the students to plan activities for the benefit of the students. He also motivated students to opt for various competitive exams like GATE, CAT, GRE, etc. and counselled the students for the same. To bring out the engineer in the students, a TED video on ?quad copter? was also shown to them, which was well taken by the audience.
The newsletter of the ECO, ?ECO GAZETTE? was released by Dr D K Kothari (Professor, EC), Dr U S Mehta (Professor, EC) and Dr Y N Trivedi (Professor, EC). Dr U S Mehta addressed the august gathering and explained the importance of the student club. She also highlighted the latest trends in electronics and communication engineering.
Dr Alka Mahajan, Director, IT, NU interacted with the student and asked for their achievements. She encouraged the students to share their achievements with the department and the institute and to keep connected with the faculty members. She also invited suggestions for the betterment of teaching learning process. The entire event was appreciated by her and she insisted to continue with such events in future to improve the student-faculty relationship at the institute.
The event ended with the national anthem and students dispersed to their respective classes.
