A National workshop on ?Machine Learning using MATLAB? was organised on Nov 07, 2020. This one day workshop was sponsored by GUJCOST and was conducted through online mode using the WebEx platform. All the sessions in this workshop were conducted by experts from Industry and Academic Institutes. The webinar was coordinated by Dr Ruchi Gajjar and Dr Nagendra P Gajjar from Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, IT-NU. The inaugural session was chaired by the Director, IT-NU and the HoD, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, IT-NU. The workshop was from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with expert sessions as well as a hands-on session in MATLAB. The coordinators and the experts conducted sessions in the workshop:
The objective of the workshop was to provide an introduction of Machine Learning approaches, its current applications and implementation of various Machine Learning approaches using MATLAB. The key focus of this workshop was to familiarize the participants with machine learning and its applications in the current scenario through interaction with industry experts and some academicians. Importantly, the hands-on session on MATLAB was conducted interactively to give a start to the participants in the field of machine learning and provide them with a platform of design and deployment of their machine learning architectures.
The registration of the workshop was open for engineering students of UG, PG and PhD, faculty members and the industry personnel across the nation. The Registration for the workshop was at a nominal charge. It was in a true sense, an interdisciplinary topic, given the participants were from all the departments with varying academic years, including first year students. This workshop has helped the participants learn the concepts and understand the application of machine learning and deep learning in their domain of technology fields. Around 100 students had registered for the workshop and 90 participants had attended the workshop.
Formal and informal feedback was taken at the end of the workshop and the participants gave a very good response. They also requested to arrange more such programs in the future.
The content covered in the webinar was as follows:
A Certificate is issued to all participants who had registered and attended all the sessions.
