Testing and Verification of VLSI Design


Two Days International Webinar on ?Testing and Verification of VLSI Design? was organised on September 3-4, 2021 on the WebEx platform from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.  The webinar was coordinated by Dr Usha Mehta and Dr Vaishali Dhare from Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, IT-NU. The webinar received an overwhelming response. More than 550 participants, including 94 participants from 57 different MNCs, 63 faculty participants from 40 Institutes, and more than 400 students from 162 Institutes had registered for this webinar. Also, a few international participants from Arizona State University and the National University of Singapore had registered.

The prime objective of this webinar was to provide an introduction to testing and verification and also aimed to have a basic understanding of contents like Verification Methodologies, Functional Verification and Code Coverage, Static Timing Analysis, Fault Modeling, and Automatic Test Pattern Generation, Design-For-Test, Built-In-Self-Test, JTAG, SoC Testing, etc.

The inaugural session was chaired by Dr Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, and IIT Jammu. Dr Anup Singh, Director General, Nirma University presided over the programme. Dr R. N. Patel, Director, School of Technology, Nirma University was the Guest of Honor. Dr Dhaval Pujara, Head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering, Institute of Technology presented the welcome address.

The eminent speakers from IITs and reputed multinational industries were invited as experts. Dr Virendra Singh, Professor, IIT Powai, Bombay, Dr Santosh Biswas, Professor, IIT Guwahati, Prof. Usha Mehta, Professor Nirma University, Prof Vaishali Dhare, Associate Professor, Nirma University, Mr Pinal Patel, Technical Manager, e-Info chips, Ahmedabad, Mr Viren Gujjar, Physical Design Manager, Synapse Design Automation Inc. (USA) and Mr Tapaswi Khamar Technical Manager, Synopsys, Bangalore delivered the expert talks on various topics related to the webinar.

Formal and informal feedback was taken at the end of the webinar and received good responses from the participants. Many quizzes were conducted during the webinar. The certificate of participation was issued to those participants who had successfully attended the webinar and attempted the quizzes.
