For a student interested in pursuing Engineering as a career, the choice of Institute and Branch is very important. Institute matters the most along with branch, and studying Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Institute of Technology, Nirma University was a versatile experience. The course structure of the department is maintained as per industry requirements and feedback received from academia. The access to labs and infrastructure at the department encouraged me to get involved in research activities, and it was extensively supported by faculty members. All-round development is the prime focus of the Department as well as the Institute, and factors like submission deadlines, industry exposure, foreign collaborations, time management, etc. are immensely helpful in getting acquainted with the professional environment. After completing my B. Tech, I secured placement in the company of my choice, and it was possible because of the invaluable support and guidance provided by the Department and Faculty Members. One of the strengths of the EC Department is the strong and active alumni base, which contributes to building rapport between industry, academia, and the department. Alumni-Sponsored Lab is one of the functional examples. The industry-connect is affirmed by various top-ranked and reputed companies, visiting the Institute for Placements. It was an enriching experience to study at this prestigious EC department, and I am proud to be associated with the Department and the Institute as an alumni.
