In the first week of January 2025, students of MTech (VLSI, Sem 2) from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Institute of Technology, Nirma University visited Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), Chandigarh and Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), Shimla. The students were accompanied by Dr. Sachin Gajjar and Dr. Dhaval Shah.
The purpose of the visit to SCL Chandigarh was to understand the entire flow of fabrication of CMOS 180nm technology node. The exposure to real-world techniques and ongoing industrial research significantly heightened the students’ comprehension of VLSI, imparting a deep understanding of the field and its broader applications.
The visit to CPRI Shimla provided valuable knowledge about use of machine learning, electronics in agricultural research and development, particularly in the field of potato farming.
